1st: Does TSP or TSPS4 supports multi-core CPU?
2nd: Whats the best way to decrease latency?
3rd: Does a hi-end USB cable (like transparent or Cardas) make noticeable difference when using a controller?
4th: choices of upgrading a 5200rpm HDD to a Seagate Solid State Hybird and upgrading memory to 4GB? Which one should be first?
5th: Changing Windows to Ubuntu?
thats all for today…
Thanks to anyone who can help me…
90% of MAC OS was designed base on Linux, I like Mac but since I’ve already owned a Dell Latitude E6410 with some superior hardwares. pointless for me to get another laptop…
TSP doesn’t run on Linux afaik?
And what sort of latencies are you running?
A 2009 or newer Macbook will do 4ms no worries, the newer ones probably even lower.

[/quote]Unix. Unix brotha. Get it right.
Linux is a Unix clone written from scratch by Linus Torvalds with assistance from a loosely-knit team of hackers across the Net. It aims towards POSIX compliance.----Official Linux kernel README file
so yeah man, you are right, they are all “unix-like” os
IMO you don’t need the latest hardware but one that does the job right. I run TP at 2,5ms (can run at 1ms but i’d rather have a safety net) along with a pretty midi out intensive apc mapping.
anyways, traktor doesnt run on linux unless it’s emulated as far as i know (dunno about NI soundcard drivers if you are planning to get tsp)
to reduce latency disable wifi/bluetooth (all systems), disable battery ACPI (PC notebook) and kill any unnecesary proceses/programs
Guess more ram is the first stop (you never have enough ram! ), it will speed up your system (system won’t have to use paging file so much) more than new SSD (software and Windows will start faster).
