51 percent is what he sold…maybe sold “controlling interest”…and whether he actually owns his own 49 percent?..dunno…
I had no idea he owned any part of that. I thought he just sold his name to them.
I don’t think Dr. Dre even had that much controlling stock in the company. He and an exec from Geffen both founded the company and then had a strange arangment with Monster Cables to produce the stuff and get it into every BestBuy on earth. My guess would be that a lot of people sold off parts of their stocks in the company to get the deal through but I still can’t figure out what HTC was thinking.
I mean there decent headphones but why would you want that tech in a cellphone. Who want’s to listen to a little bitty cellphone that has great bass and crisp highs. Ohh well their money they can blow it on whatever they want. 
HTC was thinking the can put a picture of Dre on their phones and sell whole shit tons of them to kids who think they sound better.
