Dropping a sample right before a drop to spice things up?

I don’t know if a lot of DJ’s do this, but it seems like dropping a sample right before a drop is what samples were made for. Do you guys do this? Is there an art to it? Is there a way to make it work every time? Dropping vocals or something from a popular song right before a nasty drop just seems like it would really increase the energy level. Even doing a backspin sample right before the next track comes in could be really cool. What do you guys think?

Do whatever sounds good. No one got anywhere by abiding by rules.

Damn son where dya find this ?

Dayum sun were u find dis*

followed by stereotypical jamaican goinggg “pulll it upppppppppp” then airhorns and gunshots then procede to play Levels.

What you can do is beatgrid your sample at 4, 8, 16, or 32 beats so that you can quickly and easily change the pitch to make the sample fit perfectly where you want it.

^this lol

usually i use my name drop or a swoosh sound or i like the justin beiber name drop gets peoples attention lol

5KR1LL4X OH MAH GAWD !!!

I’d stay away from samples.
At least cheesy vocal samples.

But hey if that’s your thing and you’re feeling it, go for it.

Haha.. thats great!

wtff ?

I would do this with only the most inappropriate SFX. Like a wet fart or a line from a really serious movie. That’s what would make it cool.

LMAO how have I not heard that remix?

if i drop that wednesday i may lose my residency
