I recently started making some dubstep and right now have about 5 tracks for my song with variations of different wobble speed.
My question is, is there a way to just have one track with all variations on it instead of having them all seperated? It seems to be a little choppy because I have them seperated and honestly its very time consuming trying to line up all the seperate tracks together…maybe automation is the answer?? Can you automate wobble speed??
Example, see how his varation of wobbles just flow together
what synth are you using to make them? that could be the issue. for the more “wobbly” stuff (i don’t really dig the whole full on wobble stuff) i use massive with separate tracks for different speeds, and as long as the midi notes are back to back with each other it sounds seamless. with the latest massive update i’m pretty sure lfo speed is an automatable function.
Yeah, massive works well for this. Essientially you are going to sync up your LFO to master tempo, and then you can map the tempo sync to a knob. This way, it will always be in time really, rather than kinda out there.
yeah i find that’s optimal for live performance, but for tracks it can be a bit tricky to get the knob spot on the speed you’re aiming for cleanly. i wish i knew a way to map buttons to different speeds, that would be clutch.
