DVS Instant doubles transition workflow

Can anyone post an example of their workflow to transition with instant doubles? If I keep the Xfader in the center, the duplicated track causes a spike in volume since its playing on both decks. Is there a way to just “transfer it” instead of just duplicating? If not, How do I keep it level when I use instant doubles?

Fader all the way to the left.
Double left deck to right deck.
Fast cut on the fader to right.

If your feeling brave, you can throw in a turntable stop (LEFT deck!) before you make the cut.
