Easy/Quick Question Regarding Traktor Pro Recording

Easy/Quick Question Regarding Traktor Pro Recording

Alright I did research but I just want to make sure by asking you guys.

When I record stuff in Traktor Pro, the bit rate it encodes it in is like 3000kbs. Is the only way to reduce it to something like 320kb by downloading some rando audio file/bit rate converter or is there a more official Traktor way?

Thank you for the help

traktor records in wav, just use itunes or whatever to convert it.

yup. convert it and delete the wav

Thanks guys!

I have another quick question about my Audio 2 DJ I just got.

I am confused by the terms sample rates and process buffers and which settings I should put them. Is 44100 Hz the recommended/“good enough” setting for sample rate? If I was at a club, would I set it to the highest setting or does it not matter past 44100?

I tried googling about process buffers and it seems that the higher the number, the more stable the sound will be. Should I max it out? What is the “Ideal” process buffer setting?

Finally, if I’m having audio dropouts/hiccups, how do I change these 2 settings to make it better?

Thanks once again!

as far as your drops go, try raising the latency in traktor. that should help.

44100 is as high as it typically needs to go.

Thanks guys … I think that answers all my questions for now.

From googling more, it seems like Process Buffering is similar to audio latency (the higher, the more time your computer has to process audio)

Thanks again!

Traktor recording is WAV format. Import to iTunes, or better still Nero so that you can tweak in ‘Properties’ and track-mark in ‘Editor’ and convert. Delete WAV in Native Instruments ‘recordings’ folder - they are HD hungry.
Audio2 - INCREASE latency, disable WiFi/bluetooth & get a quality USB cable (eg Monster).
