Emulate Traktor Delay Freeze in Serato DJ

Hi all,

Long time reader, first time poster.

For many years I used Traktor Scratch Pro. Recently I made the switch to Serato Scratch Live (and as of last week the Serato DJ upgrade).

I’m more of a traditional DJ but got to love the effects in Traktor - especially the delay. Now I often switch between tricky genre’s so the Traktor delay effect was perfect for me as it had a freeze option - basically trigger the effect and it froze a bit of the track and put it on delay.

I am trying to emulate this type of effect in Serato but I can’t seem to figure it out. I can get a delay going which is fine but the track keeps playing and it ends up just sounding muddy.

Any suggestions?

If you’re using a Serato controller you can use post fader delay to keep the effect going without the track.
