ending

Gonna have to get that Wuzels track. Maybe dig up some good remixes of it too.

Little OT, but… A band bar I used to frequent in college always played opera very loud to clear out the place at closing time.

i generally drop into a loop and take out the tops and mids.. pick up the mic and thank them for coming

The theme from Rocky

motor off while i have a loop set, sounds cool as especially if u add a bit crusher and delay over the toppp.

I just turn the turntable off in the outro and let the beat slow down until stopped

I hope you guy’s weren’t mocking The Wurzels. Those guys are local legends round these parts. AND STILL GIGGING!!! I’m going to watch them in a couple of weeks time!

Rick Roll followed by looped pitched up Rick Ross grunts

Bring the digital lo-fi to about 60 or so, add some reverb. Instant dubstep yois.

Do that until everyone leaves

The title says it all…Great possible ending

Depending on the mood of the set, i would always try to put down a classic. Whether it was a rap, house, trance or disco i always tried to find something to put a wrapper on the night.

Don’t Go by Justin Martin. Hopefully the audience feels the same way…

I agree with this ^

does anybody know whether he is referring to closing a set at: #1) A recorded bedroom set for Soundcloud #2) a small bar/lounge 3) a large club #4) a small festival #5) a large festival ??? lol Imagine Swedish Mafia closing a huge festival with Conway Twitty.

Actually I think the closing track is the only thing where I can’t see a difference between all those scenarios.

Get on the mic. Thank people for coming out. Down tempo. Tell them who you are so you get some fans.

To give you all an example of what I mean: this killer track, which just got released (vinyl only), is a perfect closing track imho (and I don’t even know if I’d play it at any other time during a set) - it’s got a big fat groove and still is very emotional, certainly material for a memorable moment at the end of a set.

really?? watch this abortion of a closer :

Just go with the flow. Don’t be the t*** riding the effects right till the end of the song, so that the next DJ has no space to setup!

Most of the time if someone takes over they will ask for you to finish a particular way, easiest for me is fade out on the breakdown and tap the crap out of that cue button and press play

Last set I played in public :

Pretty small loop (around 1/8), not on the beat. Pitch in wide mode, i went from ±0% to the less i could (around -50% i’d say) slowly, and then DJM robot effect, going from 0% to -100%. At the same time, LPF.
You end up with a deep and slow growling sound, and you step down from the stage like a baws.

If you enjoyed yourself more than usual:

I HADDD THE TAIM OF MAA LIFE !!!
