As I switched on my DJTT Custom overlayed VCI-100 (1.3 courtesy of the DJTT firmware upgrade kit) with DJTT Black Faders, plugged it and my soundcard in with my new DJTT USB cables and switched on my laptop emblazoned with a DJTT sticker and desktop background… I realised I’ve become something of a gear slut.
All I have to do it look around my bedroom at the keyboards, pad controllers, turntables, mixers, various other controllers, the painted VCI, the MIDIFighter, the laptop with the DJTT wallpaper and DJTT sticker, and I both get a little too excited and die a little inside.
It’s a delicate balance of spending money and not crippling my checking account.
at first i read “clipping my checking account.” haha, got audio on the mind.
however, i suppose that would still make sense, as you’d be pushing it past its limit to negative effect!
Baha my mom called me a gear whore just the other day. What’s funny is, I seriously don’t have that much invested in it - probably under or around $3k for both djing and production.
Can I just say $3k is a shitload of money? Lol I hope you were being sarcastic. Either everyone here is a lot more affluent than I am or I’m missing something…
haha… I think, in the past 5 years I’ve invested around $10k on DJing and production, not including music purchases.
But this stuff adds up. I have gone through two laptops in the past 4 years (well, gone through one, on the second one) for DJ/production stuff, and have to rebuild a PC so I can designate production and DJ systems.
Ha, yeah that was more my point, I’m a DJTT Gear whore. Truly though, if I had the money I’d be an all out gear whore. I’m talking hog-tied spread eagle style whore here.
