Noticed their isnt a thread (off topic) about the EPL, or rather any other leagues in general. If there is anyone out there that follows the EPL, or La Liga or Serie Etc. Share about the upcoming season.
My thoughs on EPL 2012 - 2013
Manchester United (if they can get their defense sorted, Rooney-Kagawa-RvP will be virtually unstoppable if they gel and stay fit)
Manchester City (their strength in depth will be key but are currently overly reliant on Silva, Kompany & Yaya, if any of them get injured it could derail their season)
Chelsea (Hazard and Oscar look good but their lack of consistent finishers up front will hurt them)
Tottenham Hotspur (Loss of Modric will be felt in the middle of the park but I still expect them to place highly)
Arsenal (Loss of RvP will be huge…Giroud is good but nowhere near RvP. Cazorla to be their key man)
Surprise Package: Everton. (Wouldn’t rule out them getting 4th or 5th come the end of the season. They look good in almost every position (central mid is so-so) especially up front)
EPL Golden Boot: Could be any of Rooney, Aguero or RvP.
UCL Winners: Barcelona/Real Madrid (haven’t decided)
La Liga: FC Barcelona
Serie A: Juventus
Bundesliga: Bayern Munich
Ligue 1: PSG
yeah for serie A Juve… Milan are floundering after getting rid of Ibra and Silva and now Cassano to Inter. Speaking of Inter i think they can challenge and so can Roma, Lazio, Napoli and Udinese too. Should be really tight 1st to 5th.
EPL is by far my favorite league to watch…along the champions league matches…top knotch futbol…none of that professional diving that goes on in the italian, spanish, south american, latin american games…friggin sniper fire…
i really just love to watch…
concacaf has a champions league…but it’s not the same…
Liverpool are looking awful again so far this season. Losing 3-0 to West Brom and then scraping a1-0 against Hearts, via an own goal. The season ahead does not look bright…
I’m hoping it’s just a slow start due to us having a new manager. Adjusting.
Hopefully we’ll find our feet after a few more matches, sooner the better though.
I even think without Pep; barca will be able to compete just as competitively as last year. Plus David Villa is back so thats definetly a boost. The Barca system is bigger than just one man so they can continue their challenges.
Did anyone see Torres dive this morning against Newcastle? that was so blatantly pitiful.
This is true through a lot of the Premier League, though. Sadly. So much at stake with these games I’m sure everyone dives at some point. It’s just a matter of how good an actor they are that determines whether or not they get away with it.
In that case the Oscars go to Sergio Busquets and Ashley Young who do the worst job of conceilling their dives. Its comical actually.
AC Milan losing at home to newly promoted Sampdoria? My weekend just got alot better as an Interista.
What about Swansea’s start?
I thought they might struggle this time losing Rogers and a few players - looks like Sinclair’s going to Man City as well - but Laudrup’s made an amazing start, I read a stat that all the teams that have scored 8 in their first two games before have finished in the top four…
Do you go to watch Leeds Nicky? Im from Middlesbrough but i can’t see us getting up this year, i don’t know about Leeds though.
I can see Stoke, West Ham and QPR going down and Chelsea winning the title.
TBH… Laudrap hasn’t really had much success anywhere else on the continent. His start to the season is pretty solid. But we’ll see come decemeber where the Swans are sitting.
As for the promoted teams…every year the big boys dont know what to expect and the promoted teams claim a few scaples early on in the season. see reading 2008-2009 i think. or norwich last year etc.
Just have a feeling they’ll be back this year, hope so too - when I was a kid Leeds were in the 2nd Division and they were the ones I watched on tv and always liked them
