Euphonix MC Control

Euphonix MC Control

Hey Guys,

I’m new over here. But I like that site very much. So here’s my first post

I was thinking of getting a controller for my traktor pro, and I have eyes for the VCI-100 in combination with the Euphonix MC Control…does anyone have experiences with the Euphonix Controler or is it just too “big” for using it as a control-device for DJing? These assignable touchscreen buttons are quite kickass and make controling very flexible i guess…and by the way is the Euphonix Controler compatible with Traktor Pro??? It uses that EuCon Protocol, is Traktor supporting that?

Nobody?

Gotta give it more than three hours, man.

Wow, I have never even heard of this. It seems like it would be a different approach to djing. I didn’t see anything on there site about any DJ programs. Reason, Protools… basically video and music editing software. Get a hold of the company. They may have a program client where you can make it work with any program you want.

I would love to get my hands on a set of these things .

I played around with one at the AES show in SF last year, LOTS OF DROOLING, that Homer Simpson with a doughnut in hand kind of drooling, yeah that.

Looks pretty sexy i have to admit, theres alot of wasted controller space though.

Bento that’s the mix, the MC Control has a touch screen interface with sliders. Both are sexy. But ya thanks for starting this thread B3rnie, wouldn’t have known about this thing. It looks amazing!

fuck yea thats a bling lookin machine

Never heard of this either, thanks for bringing it to my attention! As was said earlier up looks like they are more aimed at production.

It’s a designer controller really, IMO it will be overpriced for what it can give you in terms of dj’ing, and as bento said, there seems to be a lot of wasted space on their controllers due to the emphasis on aesthetics.

I’ve been eying this thing for over a year, it has almost NO purpose what so ever in DJ’ing, the real thing on this is that it’s supposed to be an equivalent to automap, but with motorized faders and a touchscreen for full DAW packages and their built in plugins only, not 3rd party plugins. it’s fully compatable with logic, but the Digital Performer support still needs some work from all the reviews on it. a lot of fellow DP users have been complaining that the driver support for DP is half finished at best. for logic its supposed to be dreamy.

as for controllerism and live perfomance/DJ’ing, I would definitely steer clear of these.

it’s really a studio tool only, but a great one. EXPENSIVE!!!

I preferential to this one

I think Chris Liebing uses the Euphonix mix for his effects. It’s wireless too. Very nice stuff.. I know for sure he uses the uc33e.

the euphonix is actually ethernet driven I believe so it could be done in a wireless way, but you would need to have some kind of router or transmitter directly connected to the hardware. not really sure how that would work.

I think mc control is really not a good choice for djing. It’s overkill in everyway! I have a friend who use it with logic and it’s really fun because he don’t need his computer keyboard anymore. If you want to begin producing it’s good but… for djing I would suggest something more small and designed djing in mind.
