experiences in having a good friend as your booker?

i got this offer from a good friend of mine. i´m still not sure if i should do it or not.
anyone in a situation like this and if so able to provide some pros/cons?

Pros :
• cool conditions of working
• booze
• he will trust you
• you can trust him (about payment)

Cons :

• Money and friendship are not usually 2 things you wanna deal with at the same time

I’d go for it.

The con listed above will be a recipe for disaster in my opinion.

I read this thread as having a good friend as your hooker and was confused

This to be honest! :stuck_out_tongue:

thing is that i´m a really nice guy and i know, that if a party doesn´t pay off i´d suggest him to not pay me the price i asked him to and lower it. my fear is that he could get used to it. this would be the only reason not to do it. gonna think about it.
and if i won´t have him as my booker he could still be my hooker

Meaning you would pay him ?

So the solution is right here :
He books you, you play. As a payment, he accepts to be your hooker for the night. Problem solved.

OR You can always except full payment/amount decided before for the gig from him and if you feel you under performed or didn’t get the draw that was expected, you could give him some money back. That way he knows to always pay you the full amount, no questions about it.

Come back :stuck_out_tongue:

^ Have your friend book you gigs, just have a better friend as your lawyer

hahahaha hell yeah! i already figured this out.
me and my soon to be lawyer=

i wouldn´t want my lawyer to be my gf, so it´s good to be friendzoned by her

Stick to DJing…Pimping Ain’t Easy…

The problem, I think, is that venues/tours/nights have got to constantly reinvent themselves, and except in really exceptional cases this does eventually mean rotating DJs. I used to have a tour manager who was a close friend of mine, and eventually it came time for me and that tour to part ways. I moved on to something better, and the night reinvented itself. So it worked out well, but it was an incredibly awkward situation and a strain on our friendship.

We live in different cities now so don’t talk as much but are still good friends, that said I wouldn’t work for him again - I think its just not worth the hassle

worst relationship ever would be your lawyer and your GF, try to win a argument. You’ll be buried in so much paperwork and legal shit you’ll say screw and buy her diamonds every single time.
