Eye-Fi card

Eye-Fi card

I know there’s quite a few photographers on here so I thought I would post about this. I just bought an Eye-Fi card for my camera and love it. I can shoot with my camera and within seconds the photo is on my iPhone ready for me to do whatever with. Absolutely fantastic for me covering breaking news where I need to get a photo in ASAP, but all the other stuff like automatically uploading to different share sites and to a home computer without ever taking the card out is nice to.

Thanks for the info Chris. I was looking at these cards just recently and was considering one. Looks like its my next purchase.

That’s really cook jojo, my buddy is a photographer, I’m definitely passing this on to him.

Can it be used to display the image on an external screen (kinda like with tethered shooting)? I’ve got a fairly old Nikon D50, and the screen is tiny (compared to newer cameras), and it’d be neat if I could just “beam” them over to my smartphone (with a bigger screen).

Yes, there’s a full screen mode just for this.

Neat! How does it work? Does it make a copy of the RAW file (which then my phone opens) or has it got some wacky app or something?

I’ve got a Nokia N9, so if it’s app-only, it’s probably not going to work :c

There’s different versions of the cards and the higher ones do RAW. It is app based though working with both Android and iOS.

Hm, bummer, N9 runs MeeGo so the app probably won’t work. Maybe there’s a way of using a regular USB cable though (which probably would be cheaper anyway).
