Faderfox DX2 or Akal LPD8

Faderfox DX2 or Akal LPD8

Hey DJTT…

Please help a brotha out. Im a Serato user but want to start using Traktor as well… I would still be using the club’s mixer setup… which controller would you get that would help control FX, Cues, Loops… The Faderfox or Akai?.. Id use these until I get more comfortable with pushing buttons and not using timecode… for some reason I still need to load a track and have hand control in order to start the song and scroll thru it.

Duh.. the Kontrol X1 would do the job… right?

Well, I mean, its really a question of how much control you want to have. The lpd8 and the dx2 are… very different devices, both from a price and functionality standpoint.

I have an lpd8, and while I dont use it as a stand alone controller (works with my vci), I feel it could be used as standalone (I’ve seen people use 2 nano pads for stand alone traktor controls, and they tore it up).

How about info on your budget, and a little more detail on what you want to do with traktor?

I’ve liked the faderfox, but isn’t too expensive for what it offers? And where is the usb?
250 euro is too much for me…

You could save some money or buy a used VCI100…

Im looking for a controller that would compliment turntables/timecode so I can control Traktor’s effects, cues, and loops.

I think Kontrol looks like a great companion.. im sure akai lpd8 would be great as well…

Budget - no budget limitations.

I do have a VCI-300.. which I would start using once a good mapping is released. But currently looking for something to go along my turntables and mixer setup

Do you want preset FX routines or the possibility to set all your FX parameters on the fly?

If you want some preset FX you can try the Oxygen 8 mapping wich can be found here:

Did you saw the Moldover’s videos about controllerism?
He has an awesome routine with a customized keybord (Novation Remote-25SL)
