yeah gotta say fake blood does kill it, tho mars, bit overplayed now, when i went to the warehouse project, think 3 dj’s dropped it.
but gotta give it to him, he certainly can produce.
been following bloody beetroots since i downloaded ezekiel eats red hoodie, in 07 i think, they just destroy dancefloors!
gone off mstrkrft in recent months, guess my sets just dont have room for em.
what makes em special…there songs can destroy dancefloors!!! nuff said
yeah, his productions are pretty tight.
at the moment im feeling…jokers of the scene, andy george, jack beats, a1 bassline, bok bok, cousin cole, ac slater.
what i like best about fake blood is the name drops he uses in all his remixs. word is on the street that he actually takes the acapellas from songs and chops them up to form the words “fake blood”. check out his name drops on his remixes of restless by unkle and beeper by kid sister. both drastically different but equally effective
I obliterated a dance floor on NYE with MSTRKRFT’s remix of Monster Hospital (Metric) and then again after thirty or so minutes with Annie (Heartbeat).
Same night another DJ killed it with Airbus (D.I.M.).
I take pride in playing MSTRKRFT’s stuff since they started just down the street from where I used to live in Toronto.
Fake Blood is dope. MSTRKRFT is also good, but im more Pop which works well for certain scenes, Fake Blood is more brutal.
Personally I prefer The Black Ghosts, tho they are a v dif style to FB.
Jack Beats imo are fuck’n gold, production is tight as fuck, and TBH more interesting then both MSTRKRFT n Fake Blood. As a DJ Jack Beats were beyond compare, dropping beats like the US drop bombs.
midian I’m sure you’ve heard the Fake Blood remix of The Black Ghosts’ “Anyway You Want to Give It”? That was the first track I had heard from either artist and since then I’ve been hooked on both.
I’m a huge MSTRKRFT fan too. I post on their forum which is super cool because JFK replies every couple days with answers to everyone’s questions etc., VERY cool of him.
ya fake blood and mstrkrft do some great studio work. haven’t heard them dj tho
I really enjoy blood beetroots djing, but don’t care for their tunes much.
somebody mentioned crookers… crookers were releasing the hottest shit in 2007, but in 2008 their game went downhill like an avalance. they went for quantity over quality. it’s a shame.
I totally agree with you, crookers have made some serious badass productions in the last 2years, BUT it’s time for them to come out with something fresh, everything they brought out in the past 2-3m all sounds the same… I saw their live-set on I Love Techno in Belgium (on of the biggest electronic dancemusic events in BeNeLux!!) and well I’m sorry to say but, I think I myself would have played a more refreshing set.
I just think they will have to create a new refreshing sound, because if they don’t, in 2y nobody will remember crookers anymore…
But that’s just my point of view
For mstrkrft, fake blood and bloody beetroots I agree, they just rock!!
My favorites for this moment are: bloody beetroots, foamo, ac slater and A-trak(he is just a hero )
i totally agree that fake blood is killer producer. 2008 was the start and i think 2009 will be his year.
as for MSTRKRFT … i havent heard anything exciting from him lately.
and i enjoyed crookers new stuff, it’s fidget+techno. it’s not what they started from,
they were pure fidget. and i’m glad that everything is evolving. enough of the same
template newravelectro. as much as i loved it, i think it’s time for a change and
to forget d.a.n.c.e., ed banger, newrave … there’s plenty of new exciting acts, djs
and evolving styles. big up future ! hahahaha
actually i didnt think a lot people here enjoyed that kind of music, glad to hear !
brap !
Tell me about it, all their killer reworks and even own tunes were from 07/ start of 08. Recently all their tunes follow the same format, you can predict exactly when the build up is gonna drop out, all that kind of thing.
Their best tune is still the remix of Let Me Back Up by Don Rimini and who can forget the Day n Nite remix aswell. It’s funny how only a few months ago my mates all thought that song was ‘techno rubbish’ and now its top of the charts!
oh yeah, designer drugs influenced me a lot about a year ago. all their
remixes … dope stuff ! as well as la riots. havent heard anything new or exciting from any of them lately …
now theres a producer, every track mowgli has done has been a killer.
his own and his remixes jus kill it.
his remix of soul of man - scatterbox, is amazing,
and his track…mowgli comes to town is another killer track.
