Feather in my cap!..THANKS DJTT!

Feather in my cap!..THANKS DJTT!

Hey Ya’ll!

I have been digitally DJing for about a year now…but have been DJing for about 13 years now and have a bit of production background too.

So this last weekend…I dropped my first Electro set…i usually play Psytrance.

It was SICK!

Everything went real well and I used my cue points and harmonic keys and FX and it was just real cool man!

My mate, who is a lecturer at City Vasity in Cape Town (Audio and Visual College) has asked me to do a lecture for his 3rd year students on the art of Digital DJing.

I don’t think I am quite ready to give a damn lecture for 45mins…but I am sure gonna try!

Pretty damn chuffed!

He has also invited me to be part of his ensamble of musicians being the DJ in the group to do live stuff.

pretty fucking STOKED!!!

This is all thanks to DJTT!

HUGE Thanks DJTT and everyone here!!!

This has made my year!

Big!

Nice work chap!

Props

:smiley::smiley::sunglasses::sunglasses::smiley::smiley:

With the amount of effort you’ve put in it doesn’t surprise me one bit.

Well done mate - happy for ya!

cheers dude!

Very nice to hear…i could put more effort in tho…definately!

I would like to pioneer the controllerism thing here in Cape Town…
There are guys digitally DJing…but have not taken it further at all.

I would like to introduce it here and hopefully the rest of the country.

Lets see where this goes!

Sarasin, the beacon of light for controllerism in South Africa. Congrats!!

HEHEHEH

When I started coming here…I was not sure if anyone else Digitally DJed here in CT …in a proper way.

Now I see that there are laptop DJ’s, but none or hardly any know the VCI100.

Its the BCD and Hercules etc.

So yeah…the more I play…the more it spreads!

This is coming together real nicely!

Congrats to your gig mate. regarding the lesson: My advise would be to just explain the most rough basics, your setup and then demonstrate a bit. I think that fills up 45 minutes easily. And by not giving away to many facts in the first lesson, but showing skills, i think you will a) get more of the students interest because they ask themselves how you do what you do, and b) get a good chance for further lessons to explain everything in detail. Make yourself desired. Good luck.

btw, makes me feel kinda proud that another fellow djtt-ian made it out of the “bedroom/interwebz”

Bigup yo!

Yeah,
Congratulations, that’s so awesome. I think it’s a great opportunity to talk to a class about what you do, helps further the cause. Stoked for you.

Well, I have been DJing for a long time…and had a few residencies…so i have been OUT here for a while.

But as you know…its hard to stay spoken about.
I have noticed a lag in the interest in my sets and getting less gigs…as more newer DJ’s emerge in our Psytrance scene here…so after almost giving it up, I decided to start scratching to keep interested.
Then found DJTT and Digital DJing.

That was a year ago.

Its just a single lecture to broaden his 3rd years horizons a bit.

But yes!

I will not be giving away ALL my secrets etc. LOL

Just going to explain what Digital DJing is, how it works compared to analog and explain the possibilities.

I will demonstrate Traktor but also expand and show Ableton too, which I am sure they are already aware of.

Show come controllers and maybe a lil clip of Moldover and Ean of course.

What I am really looking forward to is the Live performances of that band thing.

That should be WICKED!!!

Big Ups bro!!!

congrats..
