Final DJ setup for me

Hey guys,

So over the years I’ve gone through a couple setups. Most of them have been controller based and I’ve now been using the pioneer DDJ SX for a year. I haven’t had any gigs in a while and I’m relocating to Miami to hopefully make some new connections.

I’m in a tough decision on whether or not to sell my SX and get something I can sit on for a while that will fit the bill.

I figured I can just use club systems with flash drives or possibly the rane SL 2 box and rent out gear for the occasional mobile DJ gig.

I just feel like my DDJ SX is too big for any realistic use besides mobile djing. And to be honest I Hate mobile djing and only do it for friends and family.

I mainly want to do all of my djing in clubs which I figure will usually have a system but even then some bars I’ve been to don’t. I just hate lugging around such a giant mixer.

What do you guys think I should do?

  1. Keep the SX
  2. Flash drives/sl2 box
  3. Traktor z2 for sound card and mobile solution?
  4. Tractor s4? (Eh)

i guess i don’t need 2 channels? the most mobile and customizable setup can be kontrol s2, or ddj sr that is similar to your sx… it’s definitely easier to transport and do lots of interesting thinks on it. i can use only build-in soundcart and as stand alone mixer… I find kontrol s2 or ddj sr the best way for you :slight_smile:
