Firmware 1.3 temporarily unavailable?
Jusr got my little vci 100 (changed from a vci 300) and i was all ramped up to gert some upgrades, strarting from firmware and moving up, but store says its temporarily unavailable, any idea when its back on again? cos I’m really looking forward to getting to grips with some of the stuff Ean was showing on 100SE video, granted i need to get my hands on the overlay too but hey, one step at a time 
Same here… was about to order the firmware kit but NOPE - sold out 
Any info on when it will be available again?

Hey I do have the kit and tried it but my vci won’t come back on after flash. i get a message while flashing that says “this file is not a SRecord loading raw data” what does this mean? If you can help me get my system up I will send you my kit for free. It does say image written successfully but won’t come on. I am using serial to serial(the correct one). Need help fast.
mate by the sound of it, you need to reflash the upgrade, check your com ports, and look through the guide carefully, the video guide i think is best:

Where it says processing file:"C:\program etc is where i get the “This is not a SRecord loading raw data” I get this message twice. What does it mean?
this seems to be your issue i think “Connecting to device ‘H8/3052F’ on ‘COM1’”
i think djtt recommend com port 6, you could be getting the error cos youre using com port one it seems to be a common issue, try hooking into another com port

This thing is driving me crazy. Any other ideas. Do you know what SRecord and raw data mean?
raw data is usually unformatted data, meaning that your vci 300 might no recognise the firmwaqre, try re downloading it, have you tried an alternativecom port?
are you using USB to serial or serial to serial?

if you dont want any trouble, take a serial2serial.. (a ‘monitor extension cable’ worked for me like a charme)
but what if his setup is like mine? Ie no com port, only usb?
as in just a regular monitor cable with DB9 male connectors on both ends? Because that would be fantastic
Yup DB9 pin out works just fine. The extender cable works good because one end is usually male and the other end female. If you don’t have a serial port to work with, I would try and find a friend who has a box that does. Your life will be much easier. I had the same problem while trying to use serial to usb, and when I changed to a DB9 cable it worked first time.

I was using serial to serial as described. I ran out and got a usb also and still the same thing happens as with the serial. i ran both ways on 3 computers and I am still DOA.
don’t both ends need to be male, seeing as how the firmware upgrade piece is female? On my laptop the serial port is female as well - maybe it differs for other computers

this is crazy. already spent 200 and still no results. Already cost me more I had to pass my dates on to a buddy of mine to cover for me. I still getting the same thing both ways. I am using vci 100 with firmware 1.2. I wanted 1.3 for all the added features. Now I have nothing. I bought both types of connections, upgrade kit, overlay, arcade buttons kit, traktor pro to upgrade everything and can’t use nothing. somebody please have pity on me and help me out of a bad spot
I was using serial to serail ran out and got usb to serial and get the same results from 3 computers. Same messages and vci 100 won’t turn on.
