First DJ competition.

Hi,

We have entered our first DJ competition by submitting a mix and then getting it shortlisted from 100 people down to 7 now! :smiley: So we are in the final round :slight_smile:

We are the ONLY laptop based DJ’s in the competition, all the others are using vinyl.

Does anyone have any tips or advice for us? We have played quite a few times (biggest crowd 800 people), but how different will a DJ competiton be compared to playing a normal night?

Is the next round of the competition run infront of a crowd, or is it purely mixtape based?

What kind of competition is it?

Dj comps are usually based on these things:

Scratching, Beat Juggling, Showmanship/Stage Presence, Composition, Creativity, Originality, Execution, Technicality and Musicality

DJ comp

1st stage was mixtape based, now it is purely crowd based.

There should be quite a few people there on the night as Scratch Perverts are headlining later downstairs.
