No line faders or EQs?
probably virtual knobs n faders included in the app that will be bundled with this. i cant stand turning a virtual knob on a touch screen.. very unnatural. faders/buttons i can deal with, but i wont do virtual knobs.
i like the idea though. just not the layout/design
That’s what I meant, it will be sliders like regular djay but slider touch EQs suck for DJing.
just saw it will be bundled with DJAY, which actually has faders for EQs. not as bad as knobs, but i would still prefer hardware EQs and line faders to these
agreed
actually it looks like the EQ knobs are at the top above the jog wheels
and could those big fat encoder looking things be rotary volume knobs?
It’s a little odd but I kind of like it and know the quality will be good. Djay is pretty decent software too. It looks like a much better laptop-less all in one the the stanton scs.4dj
just depends on the price point
ehh not a fan of anything i cant actually put my hands on. I like the general idea, but ipad djing just isnt my cup of tea
The thing is, Numark makes a bunch of appetizing gadgets but easily gets discontinued. Same applies to Gemini, Reloop, Stanton, etc. So when servicing or replacement parts are needed, they’ll give you a response of: “Sorry but that model is discontinued and parts aren’t available anymore”.
I’m pretty sure it has all the controls you need to never touch the screen.
oh i thought i read something about EQ knobs being touch screen, must have read incorrectly. But anyway, I’m still not an Ipad dj, but to each their own. Definitely something cool to mess around with though
Yeah it appears as though Xonetacular is correct. The EQ’s are above the jogs, and by my estimation, the knobs labeled ‘line’ are line rotaries.
Seems like a neat cheap starter for those with an Ipad (if it’s cheap that is, this doesn’t look as though it’s going to be that inexpensive)
Looks like a mixtrack ate an SCS4DJ …great if you already have an iPad, of course price depending.
The EQ’s are definitely above the jogs - kinda weird positioning IMO, but this would be hella cool for smaller gigs or backup, the touch interface lends itself really well to track selection.
Wonder if they made it midi as well this time? … the original Idj2 was a pretty freaking cool controller and probably would have sold a hella lot more if they added midi control to the mix as it stood it was let down by being locked to an iPod (and an old one at that!)
I’m guesstimating around $350
If it’s got full screen artwork browser you can flick through like a record crate… that’d be nice ![]()
