First mix on Traktor. 45mins : house

Since I got Traktor all I have done really is sort tunes out, rate them, grid them, listen to all my old stuff and decide if I want to keep it, sort my set up etc. I haven’t really had a chance to have a mix, amazingly. This afternoon I finally got a chance to have one.

Here’s the result. I’m not overly pleased with it, the last few tunes don’t really sit well with the tone and the EQing isn’t as smooth as I usually would like, but as my first attempt I thought I’d let you have a listen.

Feedback always welcome

Oh and I made a few n00b mistakes like not relaising traktor deletes your history if you turn it off, so I had to reconstruct the tracklisting from memory and have probably missed one or two things off it, that kind of thing :stuck_out_tongue:

no feedback?

Ok, I’ll assume it’s awesome then, even though I know different :stuck_out_tongue:

i havent got to listen to it yet as im in work, but if you use mixed in key to analyse your tunes, you’ll get better tonal results

Not bad at all, I’ve definitely heard a lot worse that’s for sure.

Traktor saves your history. Check under the exlorer tab in the browser tree.

If you restart traktor, the history gets removed, although I thought it kept it, but it’s definitely not in there.

Thanks for taking time out to have a listen, it is greatly appreciated. Hopefully I’ll be picking up my new mixer this week, I can’t work with a faderfox properly.

Can you eleborate?

I thought mixed in key just analyses them for Key, it doesn’t do anything to the actual mp3 afaik.

Not the history playlist, but under the explorer tab is a folder called archive. In there is everything you’ve ever done. At least it’s that way in my software and I haven’t done anything special to save it.

Great!

I knew it kept stuff as I had exported to a website in the past, but everytime I looked in History, it was empty.

it does just do that, but when you mix using the camelot system, it will always sound good. listen to the mix i posted today, it was done following mixed in key results

I cool, got you, yeah, I understand the idea behind mixed in key and harmonic mixing. I am yet to try it though but it’s definitely something I’ll be pursuing.
