First set

First set

Hey guys/gals

I’m on the precipice of landing my first gig! I have currently started pre-planning it (i know this is not the way to go, but it is just a basis of what i intend to play)

I have absolutely no clue where to start other than starting slow, bringing it up to a peak, and then bringing it back down again

Do any of you have any methods you use that could help me?

Thanks in advance

What style of music?

what type of crowd

Back down again? NEVER!

all depends on the crowd.

you can only pre plan so much but if a crowd is not feeling it then you have to keep switching it up till you keep them on the dance floor

Its for a wide range of people (mostly teens) and a wide range of music. I am playing for 4 hours. Its a house party.

commercial / electro house then
slip in a bit dubstep when nobodys looking .

presuming he likes dubstep to begin with.. he may be more of a polka fan.

i’d prefer polka to dubstep :stuck_out_tongue:

Get your tracks together, set a mood with stuff so people can come in and talk and relax, see their friends. Then slowly build it up. After a certain point, usually after the girls have started to dance and try to convince the guys to dance with them, hit them with some REALLY poppy and dancy and go from there.

You and me both buddy!
