what software is used to get the stream to Ustream site? something like shoutcast?
anyway, looking at the pic i guess you’re mixing internally, like me. How i get the signal out to be streamed is; i use a splitter on my master out to send the signal to my speakers and to my main pc and run the streaming software there (telling it to stream from soundcard input)
to do this with the audio 2 you’d be best off with some thing like this…
and link the speakers one side and send the other to another computer
The pic won’t open so not sure on your set up but here’s a few pointers:
Ustream is flash based, you get a drop-down box to select your soundcard, whatever this soundcard hears will be streamed out live.
Some internal laptop soundcards don’t seem to work, even though you can select it the audio just doesn’t work. Sometimes external usb cards have the same issues, not always though.
If you do have problems, what alot of people do is, feed the external soundcard outputs into the internal soundcard inputs. This always works.
I personally have an internal audiophile 24/96, and a hercules rmx running traktor.
I route the rmx back into the audiophile, never had any problems.
my setup will be an audio 2, vci 100, mackie PA speaker, Sony headset, and Macbok Pro 13 inch.
the thing is the mbp has a dedicated in/out audio (2-in-1) and it is a 3.5 mm jack, would i have to get the splitter Bradcee mentioned and then purchase a 1/4 inch to 3.5mm converter?
Alright so I went to guitarcenter and got a splitter cable like the one BradCee mentioned (just livewire). What I am going to try is feed one output to my mic input via TRS t 3.5 patch cable I got as well, the other split will go to my speaker.
so i tried a test stream with the mentioned setup, either my mic jack is HORRIBLE (aka 4 year old computer, getting a mac soon!) or there is a serious problem with a setting or something, because i plyed a track and then went to look at the broadcast in another computer in another room and it came out all crackly and bad!
can you change the bitrate of the stream?
was you outputting too loud?
was traktor clipping, and making the input to ustream distorted?
try turning down the mic input volume in windows?
I have one output of my Audio 2 going to my headsets and the other into a splitter, one goes to my makie and the other to the mic in for ustream, before when i didnt try it everything sounded perfect, but with the splitter my levels are all over the goddam place
i lowered tehe mic in on my control panel, but i still have to lwoet the master out on traktor, pretty much renderin my mackie useless, but the stream sounds ok
another weird thing, i thought is try a sample set without using my speaker and only using tracks i knew, but when i raise my HEADSET level on my vci to cue the next track, the broadcast level goes all over the place on the broadcast!
alright, so i got my mac and installed soundflower.
all seemed to be working well and setup the way it should (master out channel in my audio 2 split, one going to my speaker and the other to my macs combined in/out jack). I didnt even need to use soundflower
but wen i stream it picks up bot the input from my audio 2 as well as my macs mic.
I tried to simply turn it off in my system preferences but it only allows me to make it ery quite, yet my typing is still being broadcasted
thats what i am doing. what i mean is that it is picking up only my mic, not the input, and its even treating the dedicated in/out as only an out it seems
ok after messing around with it i think i foundout how to fix it.
I need someone to help me in setting up soundflower, i do not know whether to use 2 ch or 16 ch.
see their are 4 channels on my out from traktor to my audio 2: output out 1 and 2 (left and right) go to my channel A out on my audio 2, which is split (one going to my speaker and the other back to my laptop)(would this make my speaker recieving only the left or right signal and the one going back to my laptop the other?) and output out 3 and 4 are the left and right for my monitor, which goes to my headsets from output B on my audio 2.
I supppose i need to find a way to set soundflower as my input with the output out channel (1 or 2) that goes back into my laptop, correct? if so, may someone walk me through this?
I occasionally stream on ustream. But i use the ustream producer freeware. I stream from the same laptop that i spin on. This is my setup
Controller into laptop into audio 2. Audio 2 goes into a external mixer but i mix internal. The mixer output goes to my amp and to the laptop mic. I tell ustream to use the mic-in and it works very well once i did setup the levels. This way i mix and stream from the same laptop without issues and people can watch me scratch. But i noticed that viewers need a good connection, i.e. a umts stick wont work.
