For those that keep asking how to spice up their sets!

For those that keep asking how to spice up their sets!

I’ve seen a few posts lately asking “how can I do more than just mix two tracks”…I’ve seen quite a few post asking “what equipment do I need for ULTIMATE control”

I saw this vid posted today - Roger Sachez on 4 decks, and think it as awesome sick display of proper tracks, samples, vocals, great use of eq’s and fx’s at the right time, loops, cue points…you name it, and it’s a dude on 4 cdj’s.

Enjoy.

i loved his sets on dancetrippin.tv…definitely a DJs DJ…

^ yes man. The Day in the Park one is tight work. I think the way the guy layers vocals, and the songs he chooses just make a “fun” party set. Nothing cooler than seeing big time house DJ try to throw a scratch or two!

That’s pretty nuts. He did botch the fu*% out of that 3rd v fader though haha

I saw that.

I watched/listen to the whole thing. Great set and yeah, that fader is f’d up. Pio should sell that 2000 for at least a 3rd of the price now… with signature on it lol.

I wish I had a spare 7 grand.. CDJ>controllers

lets not turn it not that thread.

true that…

Damn, almost makes me want to hang up my headphones. The guy is just legendary.

Here’s another set by Kissy Sell Out. Really SICK skills!

This video is insane, thank you for posting it. It just shows me that I REALLY need to spend some time with my collection organizing.

such a bad ass…

If you get rid of the thousand useless backspin, it’s indeed a good set. I do prefer Sanchez’s one.

just watched the first 10 mins. very refreshing to see a big producer actually doing some really creative stuff behind the decks and not just pretending to touch the mixer while mixing in and out of songs.

…damn just realized he wasn’t going to drop leave the world behind lol just a damn tease, he had that sample going for like 6 mins. i do really like his style though I’m sure every one could learn a little from this vid.

So, Roger Sanchez

How good is he?

I know thats a hard question to ask cause there are many different definitions of good.

Does he DJ and support himself comfortably?

What clubs does he play at?

EDIT:

I just watched Kissy sell out.

Does he back spin the tracks out or is he back spinning them and restarting the same track? Is that using that “slip” functon on the cdj 2000s? or the green button on the cdj that jumps back to the cue?

This videos are what I always wanted. I didnt even know the series of videos exist.

Thanks for this thread!

…lol

^ not really sure what ure asking. Is he good? Shit… I think he’s one of the best dh’s out there. Dudes been killing it for a LONG time.

Just a few simple questions that ask your opinion.

hey digitaldevil,

do you know how he does those backspins? or did you spend all your time attempting to put me down?

Im interested in finding out what people think of any performer. Its alright to say someone is good, but don’t you think its better to give some detail to support what you say?

They should make a sticky that gives examples of all the questions your allow to ask on this forum.

Both as just a completely cool Guy and DJ he stands head and shoulders above most.

How good … on the upper side of as close to godlike as a DJ can get.

Where does he play …I’d highly reccommend checking the following link for more information.
