Forum Suggestion-Rep
Hey, I think this forum needs a way of giving people rep for their posts. Like if the post is helpful to you then you give em positive rep. But if someone just being an ass then you negative rep them.
Being this is vBulletin It’s as easy as installing an addon.
Give it some thought?
Sounds like a good idea, but I think they have something similar where it lets you rate the thread post. But I hear where you want to gvie credit to the person posting the thread.
Or for helpful replies to the thread.
Hmm is it really necessary? I like forums kept clean 
I like the thread stars and all, but to rate individuals can just be abused. This is the internet, aafter all
So true Mr Devil, I could just see the flamers and all the negative post if some got sometype of neg feedback
Devils is onto exactly what I was thinking, just couldn’t think of the word abused heh.
I dont really like the reputation thing, i think its more about a popularity contest than it is showing the quality of peoples posts, but ill give it some thought.
It can go either way. I’ve been on other forums where there were a bunch of kids and the rep was used wrong and it was a big popularity contest, but I think here at DJTT, it could be different. There does seem to be a more mature membership here.
Used correctly, rep could be very useful in determining how much a person has helped others in the past and whether their advice is acceptable. It would also reward those who do give great advice…

True ACE, but I think thread-rating in this case is more important than who is the most usefull, or who had the most usefull comments.
I want it for the exact opposite reason…I want to know how unpopular I am. mwahahahaha
on a slightly related topic- I do want to make rating threads more easy and common. Then i want to have a “best of the forum” section on the blog that features those threads.
If you write something that is on top of the best of the forum for the week? We put it in a blog post and feature your work. That way everyone gets the chance to write for the site, and its rated by your peers- not me. Any takers?
