Currently starting the last part of the course. The first two parts were mostly what I am loosely familiar with already. Third part sampling your own voice has been fun and intuitively taught. Ive seen/have many tutorial video’s but I think it’s A Thavius Beck’s relaxed tone and B. the construction of the material which has made it very enjoyable to take part in.
If only the Dubspot online courses were a little more affordable.

Just a heads up for everyone who’s new to ableton, In the part where they explain DJing in ableton, they have the songs on the wrong warp mode. I’m pretty sure they were on beats mode, which isn’t appropriate for full songs. This makes them sound less good than if they were on complex or complex pro.
There is a couple of discrepancies in the video’s. Not so much to ruin the course mind you.

ive never seen or used ableton before and finished the first module last night, on how to dj with abelton, and while its not what i was really looking to learn, i was extremely surprised with what i learned… i esp love the ease of keyboard mapping but i have to agree the warping of the songs used seemed to be off a lil… im looking forward to doing the next module tonight and im hoping by july 30 (when the course expires) that i will have learned enough to start using live in my dj sets using the bridge
I just checkted them casually but aren’t all the modules are about djing?

The first section is for DJ’ing, but I can see why. It’s to allow you to immerse into the interface and get familiar with the software.
Talking of free stuff, This is free all weekend:
the first module is dj’n but i started madule two last night and it jumped right in to using the cpu keyborad for midi and making beats with the drum rack and quantization

Just finished module one last night. found it a little dull until he started getting into the effects and mapping, then I felt like I had just gotten a glimpse into the very tip of the iceberg with regards to what this program can do. Can’t wait to get home and move onto module 2.
I’ve taken a look at this course (why not - it’s free, right!), and while I didn’t learn anything new, it did kinda light up a few light bulbs for me. Numerous “aha!” moments.
Definitely worth a look even if you’ve used Abelton for a few years…
