Gamepad to controller

Zestoi is resource indeed, he can be of great help on your project for sure  For modding your remote, that is much better and simpler solution then running converter for gamepads, ofc if your pads can send in 127 ticks. It is a lot of knobs man are you thinking of total reconstruction of sketch or making other controller then this one?

I saw nice board, thinking to get one and dig a bit into that problematics  and mode my hidfighter and BCD3000 by linking them together. This way I could add more knobs to bcd and make LED’s to all buttons.

well im looking at adding an akai mpd 16 or something similar to it, to my mixer so ive been checking around on craigslist im not sure what i want to do for my next project my mixer is defiently going to push my setup forward quite a bit. adding buttons to my turntables might be a cool idea but could alter how well they work so that might be a no no.

Hey there! Looks cool!
You want to scratch with it, right? Do you thing its good to have the crossfader in the middle of the mixer? Its a long distance between you and the CF. In scratch mixers you usually have the CF close to the dj and with much space around.
but its your mixer, not mine  I like the idea of the mpc pads!!!

I wrote it in an other topic. I ordered a fader from a a&h xone22 (about 25€). I wand to use it as a fader for my controller for scratching. have you thought of buing a innofader or pro x fade? or maybe a replacement fader from a good mixer?

To be honest I’ve been trying to finish my programming for my controllers before i start spending a bunch of money. I’m going to buy a good crossfader and if it doesnt work as nice as I’d like on a game pad ill be saving it for my next project. Where do you think i should put the crossfader? i figure it’s going to be right in the middle of my turntables and thats basically where my 4-mx has it on its mixer but without the mpc pads at the bottom I could put it at the bottom but i think that’d look tacky and might not feel right if im reaching in to close to myself. I figured the crossfader would be right where my hands would be scratching around so it’d be a good place.

so im going to pick up a korg padkontrol tonight for like 120 it’s going to add another usb cord but i tihnk im going to build a design where its incased in my mixer but can be removed. this also free’s up sixteen more buttons… possibly a super arcade controller? though im thinikign that would take excessive wiring. may a mixer with arcade buttons on the sides to? maybe for looping buttons or scroll buttons? maybe i should save 4 buttons( the arrow pad basically) and make it the scroll function? Should i maybe split the the mixer in two? I dont particularly like that idea but maybe i could make a mixer that also engulfs my turntables and just put buttons every where? kinda confused now.

in x-direction: middle between turntables - yes
in y-direction: figure out what you like. I would put it at the bottom of the mixer. But as you described, your hands are more in the middle of the mixer. maybe try it by putting your mixer around and put a box on the bottom to simulate there is something else  you just need some space on your desk
what do you use for programming? i am confused. i thought you take a gamepad/other controller and rewire it.

left and right to your mixer section more buttons. thats it what you are talking about? sounds to me like taking a mixer and putting a kontrol f1 left and right. i dont know. do you need that much buttons? what about the distance to your turntables?

ok so my issue is:
im using 4 gamepads which are split into pairs to limit the usb connections.
the issue is three of them are needed to make the mixer i want ( i need the pots/knobs for eqs volumes crossfader and pitch)
This means i need to put atleast three of the controllers into one box
(ran into another problem zestoi said that soem of the pots share the same layout so they cant be turned at the same time as its sister analog stick)
this is changing my ideas because now i have to scatter the pots on each controller to allow for multiple eqs knobs to be turned at once
(sister and brother analogs sharing the same controller cant have the pots move at the same time)
now im thinking i might have to drop the effects machine i was going to add to have more pots to dilute the issue of not being able to turn more than one pot (if they share the same controller)
so now im left with a mixer that would have 16 pots of which i would have to seperate and memerize as to not use the wrong ones at the wrong time.
This almost makes it seem like a waste of time…
then i have 48 buttons as well which seems like a little much i might still try to make this mixer and if i find that the knobs are hard to work with maybe ill just upgrade to a better board. but for now im rocking the korg padkontrol so i just need to get it to work with virtual dj (virtual dj is my program i use STEREO)

I watched guy on youtube has to add some connections on board to make pots work, but his controller was board with analogs all in one peace, and I couldn’t get anything because my board comes in buttons part and cable for analogs with two buttons on other side. I’ll look for that video, maybe it can be more useful to you.

thanks brahj!

Titles are in Estonian and you can find it in video description so you can translate it.

alright so i was thinking id love to have like 16 knobs one per button for my new korg padkontrol which i must say is very nice i hooked it up on to virtual dj and set up the 12 samplers available and had a fun little drum/disco hit set lol i was thinking a knob each would be a nice addition i could use it to scroll through each drums bank/ set up a button each to flip it to the samplers loop function or volume. one problem im having with the korg padkontrol is it seems to be playing the third button down on the first row when im layin down the beats to hard i thinking this probably isnt just going to magically disappear should i take it apart eventually add my knob idea somehow (maybe mod my novation remote sl 37 to have all knobs instead of keys) I kind like this idea it would be a cheap option and i could just get a 25 key piano from online like the akai. or maybe use the akai as the extra knobs since its cheaper with crappier keys? Im also picking up a blackberry playbook tomorrow im thinking about using splashtop on it then connecting it to be used with virtual dj on my windows 7 comp. im thinking it’d be a nice little screen for virtual dj as well as its touch screen might be a nice adaption to my mixer im tihnking maybe i add a piece to my mixer that would hold the touch screen on an angle for me kind of like one of those keyboards you can get for some tablets that make it look like a mini computer (minus the keyboard (just the clips screwed down to the surface of my mixer)) also my korg padkontrol (unless modded with the knobs idea) will most likely just have an area in my midi mixer to slide into as i dont want to limit its movement.
