I have a Rane MP2014 and I’m absolutely nuts about it. I love the sound, I love the filters, I love the isolator, but for playing some styles it’s a bit… rotary. I’m not much of a scratch DJ but I do like to cut fast sometimes.
Can anyone recommend a two-channel fader-based mixer with similarly high end sound quality, useable either as a soundcard or traditional mixer, with good configurable filters and no internal effects?
And yes, since you ask, I’m a middle-aged man with more money than self-awareness, rather than a working DJ.
Thank you, but those are all way too tricky and software specific. I have plenty of MIDI solutions, I want something that’ll work equally well for Traktor or for two 1210s. Hence the MP2014 as my reference point.
You can always contact the guy who did this Xone23 conversion and ask him to do the same with Xone23C version and leave the crossfader+replace it with a innofader.
To be honest…it’s a poor man’s mp2014. But a great project nonetheless and looks great, especially if you want a simple 2ch mixer for your decks in your living room but don’t want to spend a fortune for a boutique rotary.
Since I never used a MP2014 and only used a Xone23 a few times and with less than ideal PA I’m not gonna comment. Standard Xone 23 for me is nothing to write home about. Wobbly fader stems, awkward layout, some issues with units I used (hiss in outputs that required servicing). This rotary conversion uses hi-quality pots but internals are the same, it’s still a 250€ mixer.
