Ok, I’m new to DJ controllers. I’ve done searches online and can’t find anything. I started mapping the Gemini Slate 4 to use Traktor Pro. I am learning how to do this, but I have a problem that I can’t figure out.
I set up a shift button.
Modifier #1
Button
Hold
Global
Set to Value 1
I want to use the KeyLock (Shift) buttons to use to cycle through Tempo Range values.
Modifier Conditions- M1=1 & Tempo Range=8%
Button
Direct
Deck A
Set to value 10%
I have four duplicate Tempo Range with different values.
The problem is if I press and hold shift button & KeyLock button, the value doesn’t move until I release the Shift button. So instead of holding down the shift and pressing the KeyLock to move through the values, it is doing the opposite. I have to hold down the KeyLock and press the shift button to change the values. I’ve tried changing everything that I can think of.
The Key Lock button is used to lock/unlock the key of the song. I wanted to use the shift to use the Key Lock button to cycle through the Tempo Ranges.
I have figured a work around for this problem. I created two modifiers, but now the shift functions as a “Shift Lock” button. If I press it, it’s on. Press again it’s off.
So if the controller has a modifier built in, how would I map the use of shift functions?
If there is a modifier built in you should be able to send two different midi notes from each knob and button on your controller.
You can check this pretty easily: press i.e. “Play” button and see which Note is recognized by Traktor. Then hold down the Shift button and press the same “Play” button - if the modifier is built in the Traktor should read out different midi note than before.
Stewe,
Thanks! I noticed that the midi note would change when I held shift and the button, but it would change back before it would learn it. Because of what you said, I held both buttons down while releasing the learn button and it worked! Thanks for your help!
