Genre mashing DJ’s
Alri how are things lads first post really here 
Must say i love the forum.
Just wondering could anybody point me towards djs who ‘genre mash’ music if you understand me you know hip hop → house → rock ect just want to watch a couple of vids/ Listen yo mixes and see how they do it.

I combined some of the above people’s ideas and made a short 20 min mix, it’s a bit sloppy but it was improvised. Not to shamelessly selfpromote but it’s got some good ideas in it that might inspire you →

Never heard DJ AM play house. He may have thrown a pop house sample (David Guetta, Daft Punk, etc.) over some beats, but don’t insult the house that house built by insinuating that DJ AM played house. He is a hip-hop 80’s masher who had some talent on Serato. He also was a heavy drug user and threw away his life.

yeah lots of the turntablist guys cover a bit of everything. shadow, craze, q-bert, z-trip, kid koala, kentaro etc. etc.
also check out some C2C mixes or videos, they’re like the all time team dj dmc champs. their sets are so eclectic and the turntablism is just bang on.

Meat Katie plays a kind of House/ breaks/ techno crossover and sounds awesome! Worth a look if you haven’t listened to him before.
Mr Scruff is always a good shout, search for him on Soundcloud as he always puts MAMMOTH 5 hour sets on there which literally go through nearly every genre you can think of. (people have already mentioned Ninja Tune who DJ Food and Mr Scruff are signed to, they have a soundcloud page too).
Try nu-rave.com if you like the old skool/ Indie/ hardcore/ rave sound as they do podcasts and a radio show.

I’ve listened to many live sets that AM played house. It depends on the venue he played at but I agree that he’s mainly a hip-hop mash-up DJ.
