Getting Pioneer from Asia ?
Anyone knows if it would be cheaper to buy e.g. DDJ-SX in some Asian countries? Anyone tried it?
I doubt it. I know a lot of people that get music equipment from Japan, but that’s usually because the equipment is different, not cheaper. If it is cheaper, be sure to check it for defects/fake if you can.
You’d probably have some problems with customs… and in the end pay more than if you bought it from a local retailer..
If you’re in the country already then sure, have a look at the local prices. Shops over there don’t tend to put up websites or ship overseas so you really need to collect in person to get the best deals.

Even if you managed to pay less after shipping and customs, you will not have warranty coverage if something is DOA or becomes defective. Pioneer were one of the biggest hardasses about warranty claims when I was dealing with them, and this was for people with an indisputably valid dealer receipt. I can only imagine how quickly you’d get a “no” if you bought a product out of your dealer region.
Good to keep that in mind.
Most big tech companies issue a global warranty these days. Pioneer may be initially reluctant as people often plug in imported devices designed for half the voltage, and then blow the power unit.

My plan :
my secret agent in Asia will buy it. Unpack, secure for transport and send. I want to omit taxes, customs. So there is possibility that the price will be like half of price in EU ? And will i get international warranty card? Cos otherwise it will be too much effort for nothing.
Im just trying to get my ddj-sx sooner then 2 months ( i need that much time to save up more $$$). The best price i found it on internet is 980$. If ill get it from Asia for 600$ it would be awesome 
RRP for the DDJ SX on the Pioneer HK website is HK$11,000 or 1,417.48 USD
On the Philippines site it is 61,590.00 PHP or 1,500.66 USD
Never mind the RRP, it doesn’t really apply on the high street anyhow.
Philippines is ridiculous for brand name goods ALL the time, add 50-100% to the price. Most people will buy from Amazon and get it shipped to a US shipping company address in Cali and then shipped back to the Philippines, its a really grey customs area as the tax “should” would normally be almost 100% + shipping cost.
Just as an example I saw a A&H K2 in a shop the other day for almost $450 !!!
Singapore, Macau or Hong Kong are about the best place in Asia to buy Brand Name electronic goods from these days however with the exchange rate the way it is things that were cheaper can work out much much more expensive.
Singapore has weird rulings on warranties too if I remember right though where items need to be sent back to where it was purchased (including apple iphones as an example).
Also beware the voltage is 220v in most of Asia.

NO You will NOT get the SX for $600 no matter where you look though unless its stolen, you’d be better off waiting for a deal on Amazon UK or ordering through a proper retailer and getting a proper warranty IMHO

I checked out a few of the DJing dedicated shops in Singapore a couple years ago and found everything to be more expensive even than here in the UK. There are only a handful of DJ-oriented shops around, so there just isn’t enough competition to drive prices down.
Apple products will have the standard international warranty though. I bought an Ipad through the Singapore Apple online store, and on returning to the UK had it replaced (screen issues) in a retail store on the spot with 0 proof of purchase.
The warranty alone is worth not ordering from China bruv. Never buy new equipment without protection. especially int he DJ atmosphere. There are too many things that could go wrong.
China is not one of the countries worth considering. The higher taxes there compared to HK are the reason people “smuggle” so many commodities over the border on the train every day.
