Getting started

Hey.
I was on a NYE Party and hung out with the DJ. He was my friends Cousin so he kinda allowed me to touch his stuff and even DJ a little bit when he was dancing or grabbing a beer.
He explained little but I remember it beeing lots of fun.
So I went to buy a ION iCUE with the leftover money from Christmas and a VirtualDJ pro license.
My Music collection isn’t too big and I don’t have much leftover money (60€~).

What do I do now?
How can I get started?
Which Techniques do I need to learn?
When will I approxemately have my first gig?
When am I ready for a gig?
How did you start and what did you do first?

Answering these Questions would really help me :slight_smile:

At first, organize the music you want to use for DJing. Without a well organized music librabry you won’t be able to find anything you want to play. When you have a clear view on the music you can play, just start playing around with it :slight_smile:

Learn to mix tracks properly?

It depends on how much you want it to happen. It’s all about marketing yourself.

That’s something only you yourself can say.

I started with organizing my music library from scratch, and then just practicing with it. Simple as that.
