GOOD electronic music documentaries?

So after just watching “The Electro Wars” which was linked in a thread here earlier, and I thought was pretty terrible overall. I am wondering where all the good documentaries about EDM are at?

I have seen “making contakt” which I thought was very well done, and probably my favorite doc I have seen about dance music. I have also seen “speaking in code” which I thought was good in some parts (artist interviews) and a let down in others (the film maker and wife’s personal life).

So let’s discuss what are some great films to check out! (note I am mainly a techno/tech house fan, not that it really matters)

Was speaking in code the one featuring mainly modeselektor and the Wyoming brothers?

Punk In Drublic check out this link. a couple of good ones on there. Recently watched the one called “scratch” on page 4. Pretty interesting.

haha wild! just noticed your from sarnia. My hometown.

Non electronic doc that LOVE that everyone needs to see is the Gorillaz Doc. Bananaz

Do a search on this site. There was a thread on this last year with a plethora of choices.

I loved Making Contakt, except for the fact that they pinned Buenos Aires 500km off from it’s real location

OP, i cant find it online, but BBC put up a ‘story of dubstep’ docu. (all audio)

i can upload it if someone wants

Bassweight: A Dubstep Documentary maybe its this one?

“Feiern - Don’t forget to go home” is an incredible German documentary about the Berlin Techno scene, probably the best I’ve seen so far. But I don’t know if there is an international version.

And “High Tech Soul” is a good one about the creation of Detroit Techno.

While this isn’t about electronic music, it does represent the birth of the off-beat hi-hat disco rhythm so is directly related to house, techno etc:

Synth Britannia on the BBC is also worth a watch.

And Pump Up The Volume (UK Channel 4, I think) isn’t a bad guide to the birth of electronic dance music.

High Tec Soul is great!

Also there is another hawtin DVD about his growing up which is good. I cant remember what its called now though.

I’m always looking for the tresor Berlin dvd, but cant find it anywhere, if anyone has any info on it it would be much appreciated.

Cheers
