Has anyone customized their mac desktop?

I was on lifehacker.com this evenin and seen this:
The Dharma Desktop | Lifehacker

and then I wondered has anyone in the DJTT community customized their mac with any cool results,like music themes or useful widgets, I ask about mac because I have one but if anyone has customized their PC desktop let me see!

A big show and tell of peoples desktops would be ace, tips for speeding up production and just overall customization I guess!

Man that is welllll cool. how long did it take you to put that together? I think i mite try geektool to see what it is like. I will post some shots of custom mac desktops in a bit.

I would say 4 or 5 hours, even a bit more 'cause to the Miranda skin (I didn’t knew how to code for this one… it takes me more time…)
But you can have something running in seconds…
It takes me time because I made additional icons, boxes, choosing colors and fonts…

Visual Style : GSM VS by ~akka for Windows
Wall : by me, but sorry, I don’t remember details for the originals… (I’ll update if I remember)
Apps:
.Winamp : GSM Winamp by ~frostedflames

.Miranda :
-Contact List : Pure Adium for Miranda IM by ~yukihatsu (just a few colors of text modifications by me)
-Message Box : by me (based on PureAdium) for IEVIEW & TabSRMM

.Samurize :
-Everything skinned by me (based on the Pure Adium Miranda’s skin)
-A lots of various plugs and some already made config parts, also arrange by me for my convenience…

Icons :

  • Menu : by me based on the .psd of Helveticons. by ~Scazza (the font is no more helvetica…)
  • Weather Dock : Flat Weather Icons by ~LavAna

Thx to them for the great work they’ve done, all respect to them, I just modified for my purpose…

really wish shapeshifter still worked..that was such a gem. it seems like apple put the smack down on GUI mods in osx.

Magnifique seems to do a reasonable job of customising the OS X UI. I haven’t fiddled around with it extensively, currently have a very simple monochrome theme (Veritas Public Beta) which replaces those god-awful coloured window control buttons.

As for my PC. I use RocketDock with ecqlipse 2 icons. And a custom Vista visual style called Satin.
