having a bit of trouble with my 1st map for Midi Fighter 3D

Hello everyone!
I’m currently having some issues making my own mapping for the MIDI Fighter 3D. I purchased it a few days ago and was looking forward to some nice maps but none of the ones available were close to what I needed, except for Ean Golden’s 3d Jam On It mapping. But after trying it, it seemed it was glitchy… I would have to press the buttons for changing between decks C to D two or three times before it responded…and the whole deck would blink which I thought it was weird. Also many times it would not exit from FX mode to HID/Sample mode. This was frustrating. Also the 3D causing effects to turn on and off at different decks while moving the controller around just felt odd. This mapping feels incomplete.

I bought a midi fighter twister 2 weeks ago and am currently using it with Twister Remix Decks Mapping 0.1.2, its excellent for effects and playing loops on decks C and D, but I wanted something to complement it and could play samples fast, I wanted to be able to play it like finger drumming and so I got the 3D as it was only a little extra compared to the Spectra and maybe in the future I would be interested on the 3D feature.

Most maps available are for using the 3D for FX or for Cue points and Play/Pause…so I’ve decided to make my map and…its not going as I would like.

This is what I have so far, I’m learning as I go along. I have gone back to factory settings for the midi fighter 3d and have been having some weird behavior.

1 - when I press the button for slot 1 / cell 1 , no other buttons work for all other cells , the top 4 rectangle buttons still work for muting and un-muting.

2 - pressing mute button 1, does mute the slot 1, but other buttons remain non-functioning

3 - pressing mute buttons 2 and/or 3, does mute the slots 2 and 3 but the other buttons remain non-functioning

4 - pressing mute button 4 causes all other buttons to come alive and renders button 1 for slot 1/cell 1 to stop working. This also causes the 2 bottom rows of LEDs to become lit while the 2 upper rows to remain unlit.

5 - pressing mute button 1 brings it all back to step one where now only button 1 for slot 1/cell 1 works

Any clues everyone? For a moment I thought it was influence from Ean’s .tsi file so i have reset it to factory settings twice with no changes… Maybe its my crappy mapping.

Also a few questions, where do I find the command for changing from remix deck C to D and vice-versa?
I’m trying to learn conditions and modifiers, for what I could understand the way I made my map, M1=0 , the 0 value would equal the remix deck C so these commands would only work on deck C ?? That way if I’m on deck D, it won’t activate stuff on deck C. I would use value 1 for deck D?

What is Global really for?

Sample Page Selector is the only thing that is working right at the moment. But i guess I will have to set one of the conditions to m1=0 so it only works on one of the decks and not the other.

I might remove the Mute buttons as I can simply reduce the volume with the Midi Fighter Twister.

Anyways, hope I can get a bit of help, thanks.

I think that you’re missing some hardware setting here. Did you ensure the supported midi fighter settings (.mfs) are installed and the firmware is up to date?

This could be related to midi bank feature. Currently it sounds like your four bank mode is enabled and set in mute buttons and your mapping really need the bank mode disabled. Please refer to MF support document which you can found at 3D product page it the online store.

Let me know if that helps because I don’t have a 3D to troubleshoot Ean’s mapping and be completely sure what could cause all the issues that you unfortunately have with your midifighter.
