HDJ2000’s SOooo tempting!

I have a dilemma, originally for years i have used hdj1000’s (yes that’s right they lasted me years not many people can say that) but like all HDJ1000’s the joint snapped off. So after moaning and groaning by the mrs i went for a cheaper pair of headphone. Skullcandy sk pro’s. i found my old 1000’s the other day and gave them to my pal, he glued zip tied and operated on the 1000’s and they work a treat i stuck them back on and realised the sound quality was superb compared to my sk pro’s so i now feel the need to invest in the hdj2000’s for sound quality and the joint is now metal, which gets rid of pioneers joint snapping epic fail. Has anyone got the HDJ2000’s and are they worth the money?

  • the Mrs will only find out when she notices them on my head (i’ll have a shield ready)

I love mine. My only problem with them is that the longer they are on your head, the more uncomfortable they get. If you’re just putting them on to cue and them taking them off then you’ll be fine but I have a habit of leaving mine on or pulling one ear cup off. Other than that, the joints are great and the sound quality is fantastic.

If you get them, I wish you luck with the wife

I love mine and don’t find them uncomfortable for prolonged use at all, I use them 6-8hs straight per day. The only complain I have is the quality of the cable (actually the mini XLR tip on it), but it can be replaced with AKG’s cabling.

On the wife thing, remember these are sturdier

worth EVERY penny, check craigslist I picked up a lightly used pair for 160
search the net you can find em for 240 here and there rather than the 350 msrp

Good stuff, they look awsom + like i said i loved my hdj1000’s so the 2000’s should just be an improvement, i have spent 1500 at a dj store and they said they would do me a pair for £200 which is the cheapest i have managed to get over here

Mehhh… Go for Ultrasone…

I sold my HDJ-1000s for pretty cheap. IMHO, they’re pretty crap in terms of sound quality, but apparently you like them.

Have you heard sennheiser HD-25s? Or on the cheaper (but better than skullcandy) end Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506?

I love mine, there very durable headphone

I would have said the same before I got my HDJ2000s last week, but my only gripe about the Ultrasone DJ1s and DJ1 pros are that they are uncomfortable after a short while. I’ve worn these HDJs to 2 gigs, for a 7 hour car ride, and at home for at least 5 hours a day. These things are so light and comfortable that you literally can’t compare the Ultrasones and HDJs on the basis of comfortability. It’s only down to the sound quality and while the Ultrasones have a fuller sound which is good for more instrumental music and vocal music, for modern DJing and house/dubstep production, the HDJs are impossible to beat. That’s my .02.

On the same boat…looking at

  1. HDJ-2000
  2. Ultrasone DJ Pro
  3. HD-25

Currently have Sony 7506’s and feel like splurgin on some new cans!

i have tried the sehn hd-25 i didnt like the size of the cup and the tight fit on the head, i dont have the biggest ears but i didnt like the littler cup + the good thing about my hdj1000’s i got them free years ago when i purchased a cdj1000 mk3, could argue
