Headphones: Normal Listening?

Headphones: Normal Listening?

I’m just curious as to what kind of headphones you use for everyday listening. My v700s look like they’ve been to hell and back, so I try to use them exclusively for mixing to maximize their life. It’s really not a great experience previewing new tracks with regular earbuds.

Thanks

Sennheiser HD25-1 II are great for everything… and you can beat the hell out of them. Mine are 6 years old and look like new.

I use my hd-25’s for everything

Skullcandy [GASP!]. Hesh model, works well for laptop browsing and iphone radio listening between classes.

JVC Marshmallows. Green.

Westone 2

Sennheiser HD280pro, had them for years now, they’re falling apart yet keeping tough all at the same time, that’s my work headphones where I mostly listen to music too, at home it’s usually speakers.

My DJ headphones are Shure SRH750DJ, they stay at home so if I need to listen to music through headphones while at home they are the ones.

As for the ones on the go, I’ve been using Klipsch S5i, in fact it’s my third Klipsch S? pair (first S4 broke, got S4a still in package). Apart from typical cords breaking (usually a year in) issue, they’re fantastic set of ears.

I use a different sets of headphones throughout the day.
Each set is great in its own league, but only one is great for anything.

RS Audio Custom In Ear Monitors > On the move, on stage

Sennheiser HD25 C-II > Main DJ performing

Sennheiser RS-140 > Wireless HiFi, Movies and Computing

Sony PS3 Wireless Surround Headset > Wireless Virtual 7.1 Gaming Headset

My Grado RS1is sound great - they come with me everywhere.

I like using my v-moda crossfades for regular listening because they offer a bit more bass then my hdj2000s. They’re really comfy too!

Aren’t grados too open for the on the go use?

I use TMA-1 for DJing. Sennheiser HD203 for general listening, and some Behringers for mowing the lawn and such.

Could never get used to the feeling of earbuds, got an anti-tragus piercing years back and physically can’t put a bud in that ear now.

My TMA-1s for everything except snowboarding and skateboarding. I have a pair of skullcandys for that.

I use my V-Moda Crossfade LP’s for mixing and everyday use . They sound great , not as bass heavy as everyone says they are. Solid construction all around , the quality is there all the way to the kevlar cable!
