Headphones not working help!!!

Headphones not working help!!!

So i have been using my dr.dre beats studio for about a year now, and something isnt working now. When i connect the headphones with a 1/4 jack to my mixer it all works well, but when i take the jack off and try to use it with my phone or ipod the headphones dont work right. When ever im using it on anything els except the mixer it almost sounds like someone has just turned the low bass knob off. It sounds like there is no bass. I have switch the wire that connects to the headphones and still the same problem. Help!!

Never had anything like that happen with my HD25’s or 7506’s. Not sure what to tell you. Is the tip broken or anything?

nope, really puzzled…dont quite understand how it works with the jack, but not without it

Change the batteries maybe?

have tried that

You’ve tried swapping the cable from the headphones? I’m assuming it’s interchangeable, I’ve never looked at Beats for longer then 2 seconds. You sure the jack in your ipod/phone is all good? Check with some other headphones see what the result is. Otherwise that’s a really weird problem.

Failing that use this as a reason to get some decent headphones.

Yea i have tried my friends phone, nothing seems to work. Never liked the beats…it feels like it was made for ur neck more than ur ears. Only use them cause i got it for 15$. Do u have any cheap headphones u can recommend for me?

if you got em for $15 they are probably fake and that would be your problem

This. Does it have a serial number and Dre’s signature where you put the batteries in? Even if it does though that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re not fake.

massive face palm

In my opinion the Sony MDR7506 are great headphones. Fantastic build quality, good sound and only $100. Beware of fakes.

Sennheiser HD 280 Pro are a good budget headphones … great isolation, although more frequently used in studio and production these will suffice for any club event.

There not fake…i was with my friend when he bought them from future shop. The only reason he sold them to me was because i told him i needed a headphone for an event i was doing, and he let me buy it off him for 15$. (Origanlly wanted 100$, but i brought the price down ALOT.) Anyways, i am certain that they are real, but either way, they are probably the worst headphones i have used.

looks like the smaller cable is not touching the connections properly

can you get an extension cable to another 1/8"? Try that.
