Hearing Damage

Hearing Damage

So i went out to the club 5/7 days this last week, and 3/7 the week before that.

After one of the shows at a club with a very loud system, and a DJ who Im pretty sure was red-lining every rise that had a bunch of white noise, I have been experiencing a clicking in my left ear and Im pretty sure it’s damaged.

Thinking about starting to wear earplugs to these things, but I dont want to look all weird walking around in a club with earplugs…

Also I am wondering what is a safe decibal range to produce music at while Im in my studio, to reduce further unneccessary damage.

Thanks for any advice!

All clubs play music at a damaging level, so you should wear plugs every time if you want to avoid hearing loss. I believe the safe level for producing/listening is around 85 dB.

Be happy to know that your body will forgive you!!!

Hearing is something that your body can restore, since you weren’t exposed TOO long.

Earplugs are a must!! you are only hurting yourself.

There are more subtle options out there too.

its 6am and i just got home from the club lol wear the the damn plugs. Mine are aqua candy blue plugs and girls love em!!! there the conversation starter or a good excuse to get closer to a chic while talking haha i got to feel the bass and can now sleep without annoying ringing. my plugs are -25db most dj’s play like at 102-110 db when there redlining. The only crappy part is you get mistaken for staff or another dj… ahah
