Help a fella with a mixer?

Hello everyone.
Im a beginner DJ looking to buy a set of CDJs and a mixer. I did some Traktor 2 DJing but I would like to expand to CDJs.
I would like some input on a good mixer for around 300-400$ (4 channel). I was looking at behringer ddm4000, its layed out great and has effects. But I feel like Im missing out on something more. Is there anything else with the features of ddm4000 for the same price?

Thank you for your help!

Save a tad more and grab a used djm-700.

Even Second hand is still gonna be around twice the price (or more) than the Behringer.

Nope.

As a beginner I wouldn’t worry too much about effects and 4 channels for a while. Effects especially on cheap mixer’s like Behringer usually sound rubbish and are distracting when learning. Choose a quality two channel and focus on cueing/throwing, track selection and beat matching by ear.

I would think by “features” he specifically meant midi control (which nothing else in the price range has) - if not of course theres a million mixers which would be better.

I have to agree with wampaone; check around on Amazon, Craigslist and Ebay for a better used one for not much more than a brand new mediocre one. There is a Pioneer DJM 700 listed on Ebay for $650 right now, but I am sure you can find one on there high risk merchant account cheaper, check with misspellings and things like that; or offer a barter on Craigslist or Barterquest and if possible try to upgrade from the get-go instead of putting out the $400 now and then another $600-$900 later when you want better

Vestax VMC-004XL. IMHO, it’s the best sounding cheap mixer out there. It won’t last forever, and the faders will eventually have to be replaced, but it’s awesome for the price. Basically any of the inexpensive vestaxes are awesome for their prices. And they will last longer than Behringer if you care about it lasting.

I say to skip Pioneer entirely regardless of budget. They’ve never made a good mixer. The only reason they sell is they hit a critical mass of everyone having one so that everyone had to have one.

admittedly it’s in quid not dollar, but this handy list should help

Don’t buy behringer it is Shit. You’ll be wasting your money.
