This is a call for help to everybody with an account on Native Instruments. Help us upvote this feature. Mabe even if you don’t own an S5. I know it might be a far stretch bringing NI to implement a user requested feature, but it’s worth trying, especially when an official has made rather positive statement. Who knows, what maybe happens, if we can get enough votes. Also you could spread this on your social networks, so that we reach more people. Thanks for your help!
Of course. I didn’t realize they didn’t have it on the S5. It seems like if it works on the S8, why not. The only difference is the faders arent there, but that could be fixed with a shift command on the effects knobs.
Press Shift + REMIX to enter in to step sequencer mode
Enable Step 1 to 8 should be remapped to ‘invert’ (instead of button press the action applies when the button is let go/released)
Than add a modifier to all 8 buttons in the matrix with following states:
Pad 1:
-button tap / enables step 1
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 1 Volume Adjust with LED feedback
Pad 2:
-button tap / enables step 2
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 2 Volume Adjust with LED feedback
Pad 3:
-button tap / enables step 3
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 3 Volume Adjust with LED feedback
Pad 4:
-button tap / enables step 4
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 4 Volume Adjust with LED feedback
Pad 5:
-button tap / enables step 5
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 1 Filter Adjust with LED feedback
Pad 6:
-button tap / enables step 6
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 2 Filter Adjust with LED feedback
Pad 7:
-button tap / enables step 7
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 3 Filter Adjust with LED feedback
Pad 8:
-button tap / enables step 8
-button hold / turns the touchstrip in to Slot 4 Filter Adjust with LED feedback
Press Shift + Pad 1 to 4 to Mute ON/OFF Slot 1 to 4
Press Shift + Pad 5 to 8 to Filter ON/OFF Slot 1 to 4
I was thinking along similar lines as well. Using the touchstrip for moving volume and filter faders would seem to be an obvious solution. Actually I already started to plan out a mapping, in case NI would make display controllers mapable before they would make stepsequencer accessible in S5.
Sold my S5 and don’t have a use for the sequencer but, it does indeed seem rather silly to have omitted that functionality. Doesn’t seem it would be any more awkward than normal remix or stem control. Up-voted.
