Help! What is my computer doing to me?

Hey guys,

i’m turning to the forums for this… i feel like i’ve tried everything and nothing is working.

My setup is Windows 7/ Traktor Pro 2/ Denon MC6000

for some reason, my computer has started getting screwy lately. When i try to load a song into a traktor deck, traktor stops responding (not responding). usually until i control/alt/del and terminate it. I thought it might be and issue with traktor, but no! same thing happens with VDJ and even with mixxx!!! VDJ has other weird issues though… if i browse my tracks with my mouse, no problem, if i use the encoder on my mc 6000, i’ll get an hourglass every once in a while and the software will stop responding for a few seconds…

I’ve defragged my pc, ran a virus scan… computer seems to be running fine the rest of the time… what the hell is causing all my DJ apps to stop responding?

i dont know what more info i could give you… but ive got gigs coming up and i need to get this issue sorted out!!!

that actually sounds like your hard drive is corrupting. How old is the laptop? try checking in ableton or any other large programs.

If your HDD is corrupting, you should back up all the important data on it. If it’s not, back up stuff anyway.

well my laptop is only about 2 years old… all of my music is on a portable hard drive though… so that could be the source of the problem?

Faulty USB cable, maybe?
