Hello all,
I’m a noob, lol I’ve been learning to use Tracktor Pro for about 3 months now and I am using a Hercules DJ Control MP3 e2 for now and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a mapping that is similar to Ean’s VCI 100 SE mapping
To be honest, that is like trying to play Crysis on a calculator.. The mp3e2 lacks a LOT of features that are characteristic to the VCI-100 SE mapping. What are the features you most want?
There are posted several mappings for the hercules mp3 e2. The first is a vestax-alike-mapping, the second is a 4-deck-control mapping, the third are some non-standard mappings.
I work with the hercules mp3 e2 for 1 year. Only for non-pro-djing on partys of friends of mine. I think for beginners its a very cheap and functional solution to get a better view into the controllerism thing.
@MaxOnBass: Please, what do you mean it lacks a lot? I´ve never had the luck to work with a controller, wich is more expensive. So whats the diffrence? They all send midi-signals, right?
for most people the hi resolution probably isn’t a big deal but the lack of touch sensitive jogs is.
also here’s a comparison of the number of controls on the vci verses the e2 (i was bored and anything seemed better than working )
pots: 14 vs 6
faders: 5 vs 3
encoders: 0 vs 2
buttons: 34 vs 36
so overall a heck of a lot more pots on the vci. the two encoders are used for pitch control on the e2 (like the twitch - ish) and the e2 actually has more buttons but is lacking in the potty department which mostly limits how you can manipulate effects i guess.
that’s one beast of a controller. wish there were more hands on tests of it yet. could be an s4 beater possibly… i certainly prefer the look of it to an s4.
Im looking forward to the VCI-400. Now i use the hercules a korg nanocontrol for effects and a midi-keyboard for cuepointjugglin. I hope with the VCI-400 ill have a all-in-one allround controller.
