I’ve been mostly gone from here as well. Been busy over at http://www.muffwiggler.com/ with modular stuff. This place also just wasn’t as entertaining with mostapha gone.
I found a sheep in my fridge. It was playing chess with the butter. The bacon on the shelf below has started a slam poetry circle with the bananas which should never have been in there to begin with. Their days are numbered… oh, and the Milk’s off which is a bit of bitch as I only bought it yesterday. Toaster’s broke too.

Also, funny story. So, Dragoncon happened, and I’m a ridiculous dork, so I was there (and drunk) for the whole time. There were a lot of interesting memories……I shook hands with James Callis and J. August Richards and ran into Doc Hammer on the street again……met some people……wound up on stage for the Crüxshadows concert finale again, this time without waiting in line……but the best immediately followed one of the weirdest.
So, I walked into a men’s room in the Mariott Marquis on Satuday night……to find some people doing a photo shoot of horse porn cosplay. The wird thing was that they weren’t My Little Ponies: Friendship Is Magic costumes………they were just dressed as horses.
So, I turned around and left………and ran into a pack of people in deamaofive heads clamoring to get in.
They did not immediately turn and run, which means either they were okay whipping their dicks out during a horse porn cosplay photoshoot or they wanted to.
I found it fitting.
Side note: the new my little ponies isn’t a good show, but if you’re just fucked up enough, you see the characters as allegories for a variety of drugs and mental disorders. Just sayin’, the guys who made that as a kids TV show are fucked up.
I actually don’t have the least bit of a problem with that. Plus Rekordbox on my phone + WiFi access seems like a really good thing. I don’t see myself buying much more DJ gear………ever. I’ll probably upgrade my mixer at some point, and I’ll eventually replace my mk2s with m5gs, but SSL at home, Pioneer out seems like a great way to play……especially when all I have to bring is an iPhone and IEMs……which are always in my bag anyway.
And seriously, fuck the sync debate. I still spin vinyl, and I don’t care. If it’s a good set, it’s a good set. The DJ world would be a better place if people were more focused on what music people were playing instead of how they play it, and with so much technology taking the drudgery out of it, people have no excuse for bad mashups or crappy music when there’s so much time to find the right music.
