Hooking s4 up to 2.1 computer speakers

What would be the best way to hook an s4 up to a set of 2.1 computer speakers (single 1/8th connector)?

RCA to 1/8" mini plug.

like so?

I guess it depends on if the speakers themselves have an aux input jack. If they do then you need this.

If they don’t then yes, precisely what you’ve posted is what you will need.

The “best” way to hook it up is by using as few adapters and the shortest cable possible. Since the S4 has 1/4 inch cables, try to connect it to the 2.1 speaker with a 1/4 inch connection…But since i’m assuming it doesn’t have one, just get an adapter for 1/8 inch or whatever connection it has.

I’d say the bigger issue is the delay you might get from having a .1 audio system.

I tried using a 5.1 surround sound system and it was impossible to beatmatch manually. I think it had something to do with the delay between the surround speakers and the subwoofer. It’s not an audible delay to the human ear, but it makes it impossible to beatmatch.

My assumption is that you need to use a speaker system that has mids, highs and bass in the same unit like any regular full range speaker.
