horn dutch sound
What sound packages are out there for the horn-like dirty dutch sounds? Like chuckie/afrojack etc.
Im using logic and I’ve made some great dutch synths but I’m wondering if there’s any other sound packages you guys think I should get for those type of sounds

It’s not really a horn sound they use. Its just a saw wav with the portamento turned up & some reverb. If you search around the net there’s some good vst recomendations. I can’t think of any of the top of my head. Oddity is a good one. Also reason makes some damn good dutch synths. Try to find some synth & effect combinations that work for you. Sampling from my experience doesn’t produce as quality dutch synths unless it’s a raw saw wav. You will have to give me some specific examples in songs for me able to help you out with horn samples.
Ok thanks a lot for the help. I’ll try to mess with reverb and some effects and synth settings. With the logic es2 I can make some pretty fat dutch synths, the one’s I’m having trouble re-making though is like the synth in this song:

i play around with waveform samples in a sampler for my dutch sounds… bit less control over the sound than a synth but if u have some good sample packs you can get some really interesting results…

I used samples from the Venegance essensial club sounds 3 and Venegance essensial house 2 for the dutch sound and just layered them in NNXT (reason sampler)
heaps of good samples in those packs tho…

Ok guys so I tried to get some VST’s (oddity, Nexus 2) on my mac/logic; but their impossible to download for mac (unless I want to buy them but I don’t want to invest without atleast trying them).
I need some new more modern sounds..
Having a mac makes it hard to dl the freeware plugins (as seen by this Nexus 2 situation). Im considering switching to a pc and using FL Studio, but i’ve heard FL’s sound quality is a little worse than Logic and requires some more work to make the songs sound as professional (compared to Logic)..is this true/what do you guys think
You can make just about any sound imaginable using logic’s built in synths. you just have to know your way around a synthesizer… sounds to me like you just want to pay for presets basically… which is a bit silly… ES1 and ES2 especially are very powerful soft synths… you just have to know what your doing when your twiddling all the knobs… ES2 is a 3OSC synthesizer with dual filters, modulation, a bunch of envelopes and complex routing and if you cant manage to make descent sounds with that, i suggest you spend more time learning about synthesizers and sound design… no use spending money on a synth if you can already make that exact same sound or better with a synth you already have… look up on youtube for a few ES2 tutorials, and you will see what is possible with it… If your having problems creating complex sounds, then you need to spend more time learning your instruments… not buy another one…
+1 100% a preset is can be a good place to start, but unless you get lucky you are going to get nowhere quickly in trying to tweak it to get the sound you want if you don’t know your way around a synthesizer. This isn’t aimed directly at you supracg or anyone on this forum, but it’s always slightly irritated me when someone posts, How do I get this sound like deadmau5, or afrojack,or rusko (all more of the well known artist in their perspective genres). If you know your way around a synth, it helps a lot in developing upon those sounds and creating your own sound/style within the genre as oppose to using a set of instructions and trying to mimic what you hear.
