How does Mord Fustang make this?
its the little “ditty” in the background that is made up of little lazer like stabs throughout the first min or two of “Milky Way”. I slowed down the tempo and counted 32 notes each time the melody is sequenced. I know he uses Massive and Sylenth1. Is he using the stepper/performer combo from Massive twice in a row, or the arp from Sylenth twice in a row, because each only go 16 notes.

that would be a nice soft plucked synth with an arp 
try creating a plucked synth raise the attack on the adsr FX just a bit and bring the release up as well a little reverb might help
mord is such a beast.
protip: record several bars of the arp’s MIDI output, introduce variations.
