I still don’t understand, although I ve been testing and it samples de audio that is before the time you push the button.
Anyway, sometimes it samples 9 beats, others half beat, its crazy
try to auto-grid your track and use reverse again as pier explained.
Some of the Traktor FXs works based on the beatgrids you set for your tracks…
maybe that is the issue
Dude, I have a hell of a time trying to snag the perfect sample with the reverse grain, and all my stuff is gridded well. I don’t think the start time is quantized, just the length of the sample after starting it. Then of course you can mangle that to hell too.
If you pitch the thing the same as the currently playing track, and give yourself some length, you can hear what is does when you turn it on a lot better. Sounds to me like it just instantly reverses playback from that point, regardless of the grid relationship.
hey mates, I think I made it!!It was all about the master tempo, as the beatmasher, the reverse grain works with the master tempo, I had it at manual so that was the problem, master clock to auto, and revers grain samples 4 exactly bars
This is tripping me out. I have the same issue. I am very meticulous over beat gridding my tracks, I have master deck temp set to Auto, and it seems to mostly sample 2 beats. I have seen it do 4, and even fractions of a beat, but I have no idea how to control it.
OK I have just discovered something. The sample length seems to be determined by how much time you leave between turning the D/W On & Off & On again. The max sample length in reverse grain that I have experienced is 8 bars. However, I think there still may be a bug with this FX. I have found resetting the FX to “no effect”, and reloading the track can help it start behaving again when the sample time shrinks down. However this is not really a solution for performance. The manual weak in its explanation of this effect.
