how to add extra memory to a mac book

Hey I am currently using a white 13inches macbook from 2007 but I am to run out of RAM and ableton is starting to get a little buggy when I use it. So does anybody have an idea how to add memory to my poor old mac without deleting the stuff I have on my computer.
