How to create a dubstep wobble bassline “on the fly” with Vestax VCI 400 and Traktor

he’s plooping everywhere!!!
This is sick.
1 thing I hate about that VCI400
ITS FRACKIN LOUD!!
Each click was more like CLACK CLACK CLACK
Yeah I am more a fan of the X1 and S4 style buttons I’m not a fan of these super hard buttons (it’s one thing I’m weary of with the K2).
I’ve seen people do this before and I’ve messed around with it but personally I think it’s just a controller gimmick and doesn’t sound very good.
I thought people said the K2 was rather like the X1 in terms of buttons?
i hope they are maybe I missed that but they look more like this.
a little late…
Anyway, back to the video.
I really did not like that, he dragged it on for way way too long. I think I’d rather just make some wobbles myself or slice some out of songs and then play them in a deck with cue points or play them in the sample player.
It seems like just a gimmick for people who want to call themselves ‘controllerists’. It just doesn’t sound very good.
That’s how I feel about 98% of the videos I see of traktor DJs, sadly. ![]()
if this principle was used on a recorded loop of lets say those vocals and bought in as an echo on top of the original track firstly. then turn the echo into the wobble but at the same time hot cueing the original vocal it would completely get rid of the horrible loop shortening and also give you room to exit the “wobble solo (but with hot cued vocals)” from the same part you entered it and still keep the fundamental track alive and relevant. I hope you get what i’m saying. not making promises but if i do just on the decks a little later before bed i’ll try and recreate and record what i’m trying to put across as i think this video even though it demonstrates an effect and loop technique i don’t think it does it justice
sounded awful (those micro loops r painful to listen to), Ean did it in an x1 vid about a year ago sounded marginally better
